This is a blog about our chamber and it's members where we will share and discuss interesting articles, informations, and topics & tips that will help your business grow.

Food for thought from this morning’s Washington Post, via MSNBC.com:
“You know you have crossed the river into Cyberland when the guy coming your way has his head buried in the hand-held screen. He will knock into you unless you get out of his way, and don’t expect an apology. It’s as if you aren’t there.
Maybe you’re not.
Technology has drawn us into our interconnected webs, in the office, on the street, on the park bench, to the point that we exist virtually everywhere except in the physical world.”
Cultural Ambassadorial Scholar Matt Kopac returned to his sponsoring organization, The Rotary Club of Hamden, to brief members on his three month cultural exchange and pro-bono work in El Salvador. With more to discuss and pictures to share, Matt will return during the club’s meeting next week at The Playwright Restaurant, Monday, December 7, 2009 at 5:45 PM. Members of the public interested in hearing about Matt’s experiences and the work of Rotary members in other parts of the world are welcome . For the past year, the partners of TradeFlow21 have decried what we see as the greatest threat to our economic recovery and growth–a perceptible decrease in intellectual capital and, by extension, our innovative edge in creating the next generation of disruptive technologies in science, medicine and industry. We view this as both a business issue and a matter of national security. Without desirable products or services to sell, all the creative marketing campaigns in the world will not save us from losing our competitive advantage.

LEADS 1 was clicking on all 8′s this morning – meeting was great, speakers were amazing…Active Wellness gave us some great insight into their unique business and how we can all benefit from positive energy and exercise – no matter what our individual fitness goals are. Great way to start the day!
The Hamden Rotary Club is actively looking for new members – people who are looking to get a little more community service into their life, or someone who has a community service project in mind, but not enough resources to move forward.
Come meet and enjoy other people just like you.
The club meets at 5:45 PM on Monday at the Playwright Restaurant (corner of Putnam and Whitney Avenue) in their private dining room. If you think you may want to be involved, come to one of our upcoming meetings and meet our members and learn about the projects we have done and what is in our future. Dinner will be our treat.
I’m excited for this month’s Educate @ Eight! “How to Advertise with a small budget” this is key for those of us trying to make the most of the remainder of the year.
I know some of my clients are planning some big promotions for the holiday season.
This class will be great – the workshop alone it worth it – everyone will leave with their own advertising layout plan – that’s HUGE!
Wednesday, 8am Hamden Clarion – check the HCC website for details. See you there!
